As a new wave of COVID-19 cases occurred in Taiwan, the Central Government yesterday (the 25th) announced to prolong the pandemic alert Level 3 until June 14th by requesting the public to wear masks when going out and banning both indoors and outdoors gatherings, respectively, of more than five and ten people. To prevent from infection control bleach, the Taichung City Construction Bureau continuously inspected parks and green lands. Until today, three violation tickets were issued and about 175 citizens were advised to wear masks correctly. The Director General of the Construction Bureau, Chen Tai-Tien, called for the public to abide by rules of pandemic prevention and control. According to the "Communicable Disease Control Act," violators shall be fined at the amount between NT$60,000 and NT$300,000 and the public shall not defy the Act.
"Everybody has a responsibility to control the COVID-19 pandemic!" said Director General Chen. The Bureau carried out rules to prevent and control the pandemic by sending out security and maintenance personnel to tighten inspection on weekdays and staff was assigned on weekends to conduct walking around pandemic prevention and control promotion and educate correct concepts at hot spots. The majority was willing to listen to the advisories and follow the rules. Violation tickets, a total of three, were issued including one for group gathering on Calligraphy Greenway at the amount of NT$300,000 and two without wearing masks at Fuxing Park at the amount of NT$3,000.
The Bureau emphasized that if any person seriously violates the ban of using playgrounds, sports venues, fitness facilities, pavilions and recreational facilities and sites affiliated to parks, green lands, parkways, he/she will be fined between NT$3,000 and NT$15,000 according to Article 70-1-3 of the "Communicable Disease Control Act:" "when refusing, evading or obstructing the disease control measures announced by government organizations at various levels in accordance with the regulations outlined in Subparagraph 6, Paragraph 1 of Article 37."
